Composting (Recycling)

Believe it or not up to 30% of what goes into the dustbin can be composted down to make a useful soil improver. You will be surprised at how the compost heap reduces over a period of time.  This is a much better option than putting green waste into a landfill site.

To help you get composting the Council, as a member of the Dorset Reduction and Recycling Group, is working in partnership with WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) to promote a Home Composting Scheme.

Home Composting Bins - new compost bin offers to follow in the New Year.

To view what happens in the compost bin why not visit the In your bin section of the Recycle Now website (external website).
