Purbeck Standards Committee Annual Report 2007/08
The Standards Committee of 10
members is made up of 4 District Councillors, 3 Parish Councillors
and 3 independent members drawn from the local community. The
Chariman and Vice-Chairman are 2 of the independent members.
The Committee has a statutory duty to promote high ethical
standards amongst District/Town/Parish Councillors in Purbeck and
to investigate any allegation that a Councillor might have breached
the Code of Conduct.
The Standards Committee
has recently approved its Annual Report for 2007/08, which will be
formally submitted to the District Council at its meeting to be
held on 9th December.
The report highlights the
membership and activities of the Committee and its future
responsibilities.
