If you are a housing association tenant and would like to move
within the Purbeck District Council area or would like to move to
another area a mutual exchange may be an option.
A mutual exchange is where you find another housing association
or council tenant to "swap" homes with.
People always want to move and a mutual exchange is often
quicker than moving through a housing register or transfer
list.
If you find an exchange you must have your landlord's permission
to move before making any arrangements and should contact your
Housing Officer for further information.
HomeSwapper is a national register of tenants looking for a
move.
You can register with HomeSwapper by visiting HomeSwapper.co.uk.
Once you register with HomeSwapper you will be matched to new
homes that meet your requirement's. Matches will be
automatically added to the "My Matches" section of your "My Pages"
area. HomeSwapper will also inform you regularly of new
matches either by email or text message and you can also search for
swap partners at any time.
If your landlord is a member of HomeSwapper you can join free of
charge. If your landlord is not a member you will have to pay
£7.45 for three months' membership. You can also join for six
months (£13.95) and twelve months (£26.95).
For details of other sites offering exchange services search for
"housing association swaps", council house swaps" or "mutual
exchanges".
