Development Contributions for Transport Infrastructure

New planning guidance has been published to deal with future traffic pressures in Purbeck. Developers in Purbeck are being asked to help fund transport improvements made necessary by their development over the next two decades.

This interim guidance was approved by Dorset County Council’s Cabinet on 1 November 2006 and Purbeck District Council on 21 November 2006.  It was implemented on 1 January 2007 and remains in place until such time as a Planning Obligations DPD / SPD is prepared and adopted by Purbeck District Council.

On 9 June 2009 Purbeck District Council made the decision to remove the residential extension charge.  Work is now under way to review the Purbeck Transportation Strategy.
